Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair,

July, Nov & Dec, 2021

The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair (GNCCF) and GNCCFonline - their online equivalent  - are curated selling showcases of designer-makers and craft artists, handpicked by an independent panel of craft experts, to give you the best in covetable and beautiful design and craftsmanship.

Work on sale includes jewellery, textile accessories, print, furniture and lighting, ceramics and glass and more. GNCCF and GNCCFonline are opportunities to buy direct from the makers - and meet and chat to them at their "real" fairs.  Many of the exhibiting makers also work to commission, should you be looking for something special or bespoke.

Thrown Winter Exhibition,

December, 2020

I was delighted to get the opportunity to showcase my work in this Winter exhibition. I exhibited the Soda fired ‘Wood’ collection that I had just been developing in Guldagergaard.

Featuring work by over 75 artists & makers, each piece has been hand-selected from a flood of submissions received after a spontaneous call for submissions issued on the news of England's second national lockdown (November 2020).

The resulting collection is an impressive mix of emerging and established names from all over the world in a range of medium and a testament to the power of creativity.

Guldagergaard,

Denmark, Oct, 2020

I’ve always been fascinated by the different reactions created in the kiln between Fire and Clay. Since returning back to working with ceramics I knew that I wanted to explore more firing techniques. Guldagargaard was the perfect place for this with its great facilities for Wood and Soda firing.

The ‘Wood’ collection that I started here has lead me back home to explore my raw local materials, I am using the fairly simple canvas of cylindrical vessels combined with texturing techniques to create unique tableware and sculptural vases.

I am currently building a Soda kiln to eventually fire this work. There is so much character in the material and textures that I feel the subtle effects of the soda atmosphere will enhance and compliment it best.
